The Way of Sorrows

4 ½” x 4”

1996

oil on panel, gold leaf, Avonite

“The Way of Sorrows” was one of the pieces enclosed within “The New American.”  It describes two men who are approaching the “Place of Skulls,” where Christ was crucified.  Their fingers softly touch.  Their symbolic crosses can be seen in the distance.
