A mysterious stranger approaches an angry young man along a shoreline, and directs his face toward the rising sun. The sun melts away a swastika on his forehead—only a final trace appearing in the shadow of his upraised hand—and the youth is miraculously redeemed. This painting was also shown inside “The New American.”
