“Kaaba” was an enclosure for several paintings and drawings. This structure alluded to the sacred monument in Mecca, which houses the stone Mohammed sat upon when hearing God’s voice. My images addressed issues of historical and religious prejudice between the Christian and Muslim cultures, subtly comparing these to the struggles of gay people in the contemporary world.
