Stonewall V

From Stonewall

3” x 2 ½”

1993

colored pencil on paper cut-outs, brass, velvet, wood case

This drawing was a postcard tribute to the 1969 Stonewall Inn riots in New York City, widely recognized as the symbolic beginning of the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBT rights in the United States.  The cut-out figures added an interesting three dimensional effect.  It was the third work enclosed within the apron of the table inside “Little White House.”
